Villagers were protesting against trader's murder and girl's disappearance 

One person was killed and several were injured when the police allegedly opened fire at a mob that pelted stones and torched four vehicles in Bihar's Samastipur district on Friday. Cheif Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident.

The incident took place at Aasdhi village when protesting villagers turned violent during a demonstration on NH-28. The villagers were protesting against the murder of a trader, Janardan Thakur, and the mysterious disappearance of a girl. Mr. Thakur has killed two days ago, while the girl had gone missing a few day ago. In both cases, the police had failed to make any breakthrough.
