Minister raises concern over Rakhine violence

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday expressed concern at the violence in Rakhine State of Myanmar and said India wanted the safe return of Rohingya to their homeland Ms. Swaraj, on a two-day visit Dhaka, as addressing a joint press conference after meeting Bangladesh Foreign Minister A.H. Mood Ali.
The Minister, However did not use the word 'Rohingya' and only referred to displaced persons from the Rakhine State.
She said India also supports the recommendations of the Rakhine Advisory Commission, headed by former United Nations Secretory General Kofi Annam.
